Led by Fred Goldstein and pulling from a team of experts, Fred’s unique experience as a hospital administrator, general manager of an HMO, founding a disease management company, serving as the president of a population health management company, and an academic brings a multi-faceted perspective to your particular issue.  Some of his prior roles include:

Hospital Administration
Fred served as the CEO/Administrator of both medical-surgical and psychiatric hospitals for Republic Health and Charter Medical.

Health Plans
Fred was General Manager of Healthcare USA (HCUSA), Florida, a Coventry health plan rated the highest quality Medicaid health plan by the Agency for Health Care Administration twice during his tenure.  HCUSA also received a commercial HMO license, achieved NCQA accreditation, and was awarded a Medicare Choices demonstration project in only their second year of operations.

Legislative Testimony
Fred has testified before the legislatures in the states of Alaska, Florida, Kentucky, and Texas on disease and population health management and their application to state employees and Medicaid.

Government Programs
Fred has extensive experience with Medicaid, including health plans and disease management operations. He founded Specialty Disease Management Services, Inc. which developed and operated Medicaid disease management programs in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Mississippi, Montana, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

He also created the first Medicaid disease management program for persons living with HIV/AIDS and another for those living with Schizophrenia and other medical co-morbidities.

Wellness, Disease Management, and Population Health
As the founder of Specialty Disease Management Services, Inc. Fred created and implemented programs for multiple chronic diseases and provided services to both Medicaid and commercial clients. As President of U. S. Preventive Medicine, he worked with clients like Aon and the state of Nevada on programs for their employees.

Information Technology
Fred developed a chronic care management IT system and was involved in the development of Macaw, a CES (Consumer Electronics Show 2012) award-winning mobile app that integrated wireless devices for health management, as well as a very successful population health management IT system.

Academics
Fred is an Instructor on the faculty at the John D. Bower School of Population Health at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he teaches courses on Value Based Care, Alternative Payment Models, ACOs, Patient-Generated Health Data, and Patient-Centered Care.  He’s also on the Editorial Board of the journal Population Health Management.

Board of Directors
Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Population Health Alliance, the association of organizations working toward improving the health of populations.

Fred has presented in the US and at international conferences and is available to speak at your conference, event, or training program. He’s presented at conferences targeted to:
